In general, refinishing hardwood floors involves 3 main steps, i.e. sanding, staining and finishing. Due to the uncertain economy, most of the homeowners have to do careful cost estimation before they start taking any action to refinish their hardwood floors for their home sweet home.

You can put a layer of the chopped fiberglass followed by the woven fiberglass and then do a final chopped again wider than the area you have done….that’s real beefy. There are so many ways to do this, and you will get opinions from everyone…some who have never done this, but to do is better to not do. You will also learn and see the intricacies of the inner parts of your hull.

Apply a polyurethane finish – make sure the stain is dry and then you can put down the first coat. You will use a brush to apply the stain and should use long even strokes. When the first coat is dry to the touch, you can apply the second coat. For best results, let the floor sit undisturbed for a couple of days before moving everything back in or allowing anyone to walk on it.
